Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)

Comprehensive Healing Benefits of DBT Therapy

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) is an advanced cognitive-behavioral therapy model focusing on developing healthier coping skills and emotional responses. We integrate DBT into our robust, evidence-based treatment programs to support comprehensive healing and recovery. This modality also helps individuals manage emotions and reduce conflict by emphasizing balance and acceptance, making it an essential component of our approach.

What is DBT Therapy?

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) emphasizes balancing acceptance and change, helping individuals manage emotions and reduce conflicts. It is particularly effective for treating substance use, depression, anxiety, PTSD, and other mental health disorders. DBT fosters skills in mindfulness, interpersonal effectiveness, distress tolerance, and emotional regulation, which collectively help individuals achieve emotional balance and improve their overall well-being.

IS DBT EFFECTIVE?

Research has demonstrated that DBT is effective in treating a wide range of disorders, including substance use, depression, anxiety, bipolar, PTSD, and eating disorders. Studies have established that it is a well-established treatment for individuals with multiple and severe psychosocial disorders, and a study published in Psychiatric Times found that DBT significantly decreases suicide attempts, depression, and substance abuse.

HOW DOES DBT WORK?

As its name suggests, DBT is influenced by the principle of balancing opposites. Individuals are coached to find ways to maintain two seemingly opposite perspectives at once, promoting balance and avoiding black-and-white, all-or-nothing thinking. DBT promotes acceptance and change by helping people develop new skills to manage painful emotions and decrease relationship conflict. It focuses on mindfulness, interpersonal effectiveness, distress tolerance, and emotional regulation to help people achieve balance and serenity.

Comprehensive Evaluation

Our clinicians perform detailed assessments to tailor DBT therapy plans to each individual's specific needs, ensuring personalized treatment.

Interactive DBT Therapy Sessions

Therapists and patients work together to identify and reframe negative thought patterns, developing healthier emotional and behavioral responses.

Triggers & Future Challenges

DBT therapy helps individuals manage current thought patterns and prepares them for future challenges, ensuring sustained recovery and mental health.

Our team is dedicated to offering steadfast support throughout your DBT therapy journey. This consistent, ongoing support is vital for sustaining progress, avoiding relapse, and achieving lasting success.
